A Night of Spotlight and Song: Elvis James on Television’s Variety Showcase Theater

In June of that year, Song Byrd Promotions presented a live television taping of the Variety Showcase Theater at Northwest Middle School in Knoxville, Tennessee. The program brought together Nashville recording artists, gospel performers, dancers, and specialty acts for a free community event that captured the spirit of local entertainment at its finest. Among the featured entertainers was Elvis James, whose performance added a dynamic presence to the lineup.

The evening included appearances by artists such as Johnny Free, Clifford Russell, Clifford Curry, Jamie Porterfield, Bill Tallent, and others, along with gospel performances from the Evans Family and a magician’s act titled “Magic With a Message.” Hosted by Johnny Free and co-hosted by Adrian Charles, a well-known radio personality, the production showcased a wide range of talent for a live television audience.
